Summary Paragraph 1: The Meatrix

I agree the meatrix is a very educated film. The main idea of the meatrix is about a pig named Leo that doesn’t know about the reality of his life. He has his normal life in a family farm and he maybe think that is very fantastic. Every day he spends his time eating and relaxing. Meal is always ready for him. Moopheus, who knows a lot about him, comes and try to explain him about meatrix. The question is where animal products come from and where the meat is. After he took the read pill, Moopheus was going to show him how the truth. He explained more about the animal cruelty, antibiotic resistant germs, massive pollution and destroyed communities. Moreover, he mentioned that their group is going to stop the world from such things in order to escape from the meatrix.

Practice CAT #3: The Net Is the Real World

According to the article, the main idea is about a guy who committed suicide because of being invaded his privacy. Basically, 18-year-old Tyler Clementi  jumped from the top of the George Washington Bridge into the Hudson River due to the two Rutgers University students’ invasion of privacy charges with webcam. Without someone’s approval, it would commit a crime in New Jersey if somebody shares or looks at sex acts of someone. One of the co-director said that event happened not because of technology but inhumanity. People are used to doing or saying something in cyberspace that is far from the real world but nowadays, the internet seems like reality not only in several places but also for the rest of the world. But cyber bullying can affect the inner mind that can feel worse than outer wounds as cyber attack can get a big audience and it can forever haunt the victim. Clementi’s death is one of many current instants of young bullying people leading to that kind of end.

As my opinion, I strongly disagree that the internet is reality because how we can say it is real without seeing in the face-to-face or without talking with each other ordinarily. If people don’t have eye contacts cannot judge their faces, how can we know whether they are saying the truth or not? The fact that people do everything on online or chat with their friends seems like reality but actually it is one of the artifacts. So some people misuse the internet in order to do cyber bullying such as plain being mean, defamation and so on that is not good for anybody. Some people use the net as a kind of obstacle such as if they lie or they do or curse somebody bad things, the other side can do nothing. Thus maybe some people are very fond of communicating each other in the net. I experienced an unforgettable event in my life. When I started using the net when I was young, there was someone who I got to know in the net. Every time I used the net, he was there so we accidently spent a lot time having a small talk. He told me about everything of him including his age, his hobbies and so on. Later on, I got to know that he laid a lot of his biography. When I dated him outside to make sure everything I know, he always refused to come and never showed up. Eventually, I took lesson on it and got to understand that the net would never be reality at all. It is true that the net is one of the artifacts in our world.

                  The most interesting idea in this article is being a team with human and machine smarts. First of all, a couple of amateurs used run-of-the-mill PCs and inexpensive apps in order to get the overall winner in online tournament. Next, the most wonderful entities on the earth are average-brained people who are literally good at combining their abilities with machines’.

                I believe that humans are smarter than machines because humans made every machine. Without human, there isn’t going to have machines. According to some games such as chess, it is true that humans are won by machines. Humans have endless developing brains that can think without limiting. But machine smarts are limited. As long as they don’t have updated programs or new software, they will be gone one day. Humans invented lots of machines in order to save their time and energy. On the other hand, they make them easy for doing a lot of stuffs such as people can surf in the internet and don’t need to spend the whole day to gather information what they want. Therefore, we can’t say machines are smarter than humans because people can control every step of machine that they invented.  In the same way, IBM’s supercomputer would win people at chess only few times but not forever. Everything machines aware in their memory is put in their brains by human. It’s far from comparing with human brains and doesn’t make sense at all. In fact, machines are such helping devices for people to make them easy, convenient and saving time or energy.
